Altermed Technologies, France
Ilevo Customer: Altermed Technologies
Location: Vannes & surrounding french islands
Project: Home Care and telemedecine
French project - Altermed technologies - aims at showing the importance of using alternative broadband access technologies to ensure an homogenous level of Care in each department by providing solutions for home care and telemedecine. To fulfil this commitment, Altermed technologies is organised as a consortium of complementary companies, including Ilevo.
Thus, several patients’ home and secondary hospitals located in French islands in the Atlantic Ocean have been connected to the main hospital of Vannes (France) allowing these patients to stay at home with their family while benefiting from medical care provided by specialists located on main land. The solution is based on a WIMAX point to point extension of the internet backbone prolonged by an Electrical Local Loop. This first deployment is expected to be replicated in several regions. This initiative is supported by the French health authorities and by the Datar.

Conrad Treasury Casino and Hotel, Australia
Ilevo Customer: Tabcorp Holdings Limited
Site: Conrad Treasury Casino and Hotel
Location: Brisbane, Australia
Project: Video marketing LAN
The Conrad Treasury Casino and Hotel is located in the central business area of Brisbane in several former Government buildings originally constructed over 100 years ago. The buildings have been restored and classified as historically significant. The customer wanted to install a local area network within the buildings to deliver video content to around 80 plasma video screens located throughout the complex as part of a marketing information system. The video server is located in the basement of the building near the plant and equipment rooms and the video screens are located on 5 levels thoughout the building. With over 30 distribution boards in the building of various ages and with significant old cabling systems (including fire rated cables) the project was very challenging.
Installation proceeded without interruption to the casino operations and without the need for any modification to the solid stone and brick building structure. The BPL system is remotely managed by Schneider Electric (Australia) and has significantly reduced the system installation and operating costs. The customer is very pleased with the results and has recently added further screens to the system.
Conseils Généraux of Haut-Rhin, La Manche & Indre-et-Loire, France
Ilevo Customer: Conseils Généraux of Haut-Rhin, La Manche & Indre-et-Loire, France
Site: About 100 High schools in these areas
Locations: France
Project: LAN extension to share data/Internet Access
In each French department (geographic area), local authorities are in charge of dedicated public affairs, supervising, in particular, all education related matters. As part of their mission, providing all schools with the same technological ressources, especially broadband Internet access and multimedia tools, is very important.
Thus many projects have been developed to create/extend Local Area Networks (LAN) in schools and allow all classrooms to share Internet access, servers, multimedia content (e-learning, educational materials...). In that purpose, using PLC as a LAN over the electrical grid (eLAN) happened to be a cost effective and easy-to-deploy solution. Ilevo is providing PLC equipment for all High schools in Haut-Rhin, 56 Highs schools in La Manche, and over 30 in Indre-et-Loire.

In 1998, EEM has created EMACOM, its telecom subsidiary to create a telecommunication infrastructure allowing ISPs to provide multimedia services to their subscribers. Since 2002, EMACOM has its own licence to provide Internet services directly to end-users. A new step that led EMACOM to deploy PLC on its networks, thus developing its activities and optimizing its electrical network operations. This PLC network has been designed with Ilevo 200 Mbps PLC equipment and is intended to provide broadband Internet access and VoIP services to over 9000 end-users (either local government administration building, High schools, and residential areas in Funchal - Madeira.

Endesa, Spain
Ilevo customer: Endesa
Site: Barcelona
Locations: Spain
Project: Electrical network management with PLC
ENDESA is the leading utility in the Spanish electricity system and the number one private-sector multinational electric utility in Latin America; it is a major operator in the European Mediterranean region. It also has equity interests in companies in the telecommunications industry and in other services that complement and contribute value to its core business.
In order to optimize its electrical network infrastructure, Endesa wanted to remote monitor its MV/LV substations, i.e. detect, remotely and in the shortest time frame, any fault occuring on the network, and find the appropriate solution to insure continuity of service. As a response, in every substation, Ilevo has associated RTU equipment (Remote Terminal Unit and Remote Monitoring Units for MV substations) from Sorhodel Bardin (a company of Schneider Electric) with PLC equipment from Ilevo. As a result, we have created a communication platform over MV power lines, allowing all fault detection equipment to communicate via appropriated web servers (according to the type of information).

Site: Puerto Real
Locations: Spain
Project: Providing ISP services
Epresa, an electric utility located in the south of Spain (Puerto Real) wanted to enhance its services offer with an Internet access option, on top of the furniture of energy to its customers. Epresa thus decided to propose a comprenhensive Internet access solution, relying on Ilevo PLC equipment. Epresa requirement was to use its electrical local loop to connect PLC head-ends within MV/LV substations, in order to offer different Internet access options with symmetrical rates (1,2,3 Mbps), together with Voice over IP services (competitive pricing, voice mail...).
Making the most of Ilevo PLC equipment, Epresa also relies on PLC for the administration of its electrical network, independantly from data and VoIP networks. Over 1000 Ilevo CPE have been installed with Epresa, and the project is suited to cover a 16.000 targeted households area.

GAAD Ldt, Slovakia
Ilevo customer: City Online Ltd - an Ilevo distributor for Czech Republic - Slovakia
Site: Presov (100.000 inhabitants)
Locations: Slovakia
Project: Internet implementation into local coaxial Cable TV Network (15.000 end-users)
Presov, a city in eastern Slovakia - EU, has an old coaxial Cable TV Network with long cascades of amplifiers. A common way of implementing data into Cable networks - i.e. DOCSIS and cable modems - is not possible due to technical and financial obstacles. As a matter of fact, the cable operator needed a quick, effective solution instead of an expensive and very time demanding optical network upgrade which was needed for DOCSIS.
To meet this requirement, we chose to implement Ilevo PLC technology into cable TV network. In fact, PLC access equipment set-up for 75 Ohm cable system solves effectively the data access. An Ilevo ILV2010 Head-end is located with the Cable TV HE, and injects the data via a special injection point into the coaxial cable. Only few repeaters are located into cable TV amplifiers street cabinets to transport the data stream into large appartment block buildings. The PLC network usually ends in the stairway of the building - from where a local LAN distributes the data signal into appartments. The number of connected end-users is expected to reach 3.000, which represents about 400 Ilevo CPE (since it is combined with an indoor cable LAN).
